Kari
Post is one of our Letha Yoga Group Leaders, and is one of the newest
additions to our instructor team. She is a Massage Therapist, and
has been involved in the Healing Arts for over five years. Her passion
for healing comes from a deep compassion for the well being for
all life, but in particular the lives of people in need of help
and guidance.
Kari
uses her skills on a daily basis at The Orient Center, her office
in Hartland, WI, where she practices her Massage Therapy and Letha
Yoga in an effort to bring comfort and support to all in need. In
addition to traditional healing methods, she also has a background
in Reiki and other various forms of energy work, which help to enhance
her bodywork practice on many levels.
A
graduate of Lakeside School of Massage Therapy, Kari has had the
opportunity to study a wide variety of healing methods and modalities.
This list gives an example of the depth and diversity of her background
and training:
- Swedish Massage
- Deep Tissue, NMT
- Shiatsu
- Acupressure, Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Reiki
- Letha Yoga
- Dhanda Yoga
- Cranial Sacral Therapy
- Sports Massage
- Reflexology
- Min Zin
- Applied Kinesiology
- Healing Stone Massage
- Dhota Stick Massage
- Other forms of Meditation

Over
the years, she has studied under various instructors and influential
people, including Sifu Bill Anderson, Dr. Maung Gyi, and Sifu Tony
Sell. All have played an intricate part in her experience with the
Healing Arts.
An
avid practitioner of meditation and Buddhism, the compassion and
openness with which she approaches her work reflects her beliefs
and philosophy on life.
"I believe that everything in this world
is connected, and that everyone and everything has an innate purpose
in life. Nothing happens by coincidence, and there is more to
this world than meets the eye. To judge this world based only
on your life's experiences is to narrow your perspective on life,
thus making your world that much darker of a place. Life is full
of new perspectives and opportunities- all that is needed is to
get out there and experience them.
If you want to change your life, then you must
change your future. In order to change your future, you must change
your actions. To change your actions, you must change your thoughts.
In order to change your thoughts, you must change your mind. So
if you desire to change your life, then, just simply, change your
mind. Then you can go out there and make magic!"
In
her spare time, Kari practices Yoga, Capoeira, and enjoys reading,
painting, drawing, and interior decorating. She is constantly looking
for ways to incorporate this new knowledge into her bodywork practice.
"There is a story that I think many are
familiar with that I think best describes my philosophy on life.
It goes something like this:
One day a man was walking down the beach just
after high tide. As he walked, he came upon a young girl who was
frantically running up and down the beach. As he came closer to
her, he noticed that she was picking up the starfish that had
washed up on the shore after the tide had gone. As he watched,
she continued to pick them up, one at a time, and throw them back
into the ocean.
First one, then another, again and again. 'What
are you doing?' he said to the girl as he approached, 'There must
be hundreds of starfish on this beach. You cannot possibly save
all of them. Why do you bother?' The girl looked up at the man
with a big smile on her face as she reached down to pick up another
starfish. She then immediately threw it into the ocean with all
her might, and turned to face the man. 'It made a difference for
that one!' she said.
Whenever I think about what I do in life,
and how much I yet have to accomplish, I just think to myself
- it made a difference for that one!"
