In Kyokushin, specifically the breathing and mindset training methods used to withstand enormous punishment without injury, or in preparation for breaking, sparring or fighting.
Zenpo-Dachi Japanese, Front stance.
Zero Pressure Area English, The area at the beginning or the end of the path of a strike, where there is either no momentum due to preempting the initial movement, or the momentum has dissolved, at the end of the path of the strike. These areas are the safest for blocking or intercepting strikes with a weapon.
Zi Lyang Korean, mass, a factor in the theory of power, a concept studied in Tae Kwon Do.
Zoning English, The act of limiting the opponent's offensive potential by moving to a position relative to them that closes off the major weapons, or likely next attack. Identification of the next likely attack is based on reach, foot placement, weight distribution and momentum. Similar to Angling.
